A 28-year-old woman bank employee was murdered by unidentified persons in Sidgora area within Sidgora police station limits, the police said on Monday.
The victim, Anita Besra, a tribal who had recently joined a bank, went missing after she left home in Jahersthan Tola in Baridih around 11 am on Saturday but did not return, Officer In-charge of the police station, Rajdeo Singh said.
The body, however, was found in a nullah this afternoon, Singh said adding that the police have detected injury marks on her head and hands.

Two persons, including a woman, were arrested and as many minors taken into custody for allegedly murdering a retired police officer here.
Afreen, 22, G Gulam Hussain, 20 were arrested and the two minors charged with robbery and killing former police inspector Arjunsingh Parihar, 78 at Vishnupuri Colony on 28 May 2015, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Santosh Kumar told reporters.
The accused, with an alleged intention to commit theft, entered the house of Parihar when he was alone waiting for his wife to return. The former officer had kept the entrance door of his house open for his wife, he said.

Two persons including a juvenile have been arrested in connection with Wednesday’s theft of diamonds worth Rs 2 crore from the car of a commission agent in east Delhi, police said today.
Vinay was arrested from Madangir area in south Delhi by a team of officials of Preet Vihar police station. His juvenile accomplice has also been held in connection with the theft and stolen diamonds worth Rs 2 crore recovered, DCP (East) Rishi Pal said.

A group of cow vigilantes torched a truck and thrashed the vehicle’s owner at Berasia near Bhopal on Saturday, suspecting that it was carrying beef. They had pinned down the owner, Ramesh Chand, 45, while the vehicle was up in flames when police arrived at the scene.
Police said they did not find any trace of beef in the vehicle as the attackers had alleged. The truck was loaded with slaughterhouse waste for livestock and poultry feed.
The vigilantes attacked the truck when its driver had gone looking for a mechanic as the vehicle had developed a snag at Berasia. Minutes later, over two dozen men attacked Chand and the truck.

In a shocking incident, a ten-month-old was sexually assaulted by a 38-year-old labourer in West Delhi’s Vikaspuri area on Friday. The infant was rushed to DDU hospital when the police found her lying at a desolate spot near the construction site of the boundary wall of police lines. The accused has been arrested.
The incident took place on late Friday night when the infant was sleeping with her family in a JJ cluster. The accused allegedly walked into their house and took away the girl and raped her at a desolate spot.

A case of triple murder, which took place on 23 June in Ulhasnagar, has been solved by the officers from Pune police (rural).
The police arrested six people for their involvement in the murders. The accused have been identified as Rishi Ashok Kale,19, Tithaya Kale alias Anil, 30, Namdev Bhosle alias Mathys, 19, Sachin Kale alias Nagesh, 20, Dola Bhosle alias Akash, 20, and Nilesh Bhosle alias Govind, 20, were arrested on Friday from Pimpri railway station in Pune. They were produced in a local court, which remanded them in police custody till 12 September.
The accused were traced using their cellphone location and the peculiar weapon — an axe —they used to murder the victims with before fleeing with cash and jewellery.

Many years ago, Sukhjeet Singh and Miththu Singh were in school together. Then Sukhjeet moved to London, and Miththu to Dubai.
But they remained good friends. Even last month they holidayed together in India, taking selfies on the dunes of Jodhpur.
But on Friday night, Miththu quietly entered Sukhjeet’s village home in UP’s Shahjahanpur, and slit his throat, police said. It was Sukhjeet’s wife, Ramandeep, who opened the door for Miththu.

Four days after inter-caste court marriage, a woman (18) was killed for ‘honour” at Officers Enclave on Sunday morning. The man accused of slitting her throat several times after smothering her with a pillow is her brother.
On Saturday, Manjeet Kaur’s secret love marriage to Beant Singh of Daru Kutia Mohalla came to light when she received the legal papers. Her mother called her son, Bhairon (30), to tell him about it, but he got angry over the telephone and allegedly murdered his sister in the night.
Gurmukh Singh, a man passing by the house, rang up the police control room.

A 26-year-old Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) worker was on Saturday attacked by a country-made bomb and hacked to death allegedly by the supporters of CPI(M) near panchayat’s office in Thillankeri village, Kerala.
According to reports, the attackers allegedly hurled bombs at the RSS worker, identified as Bineesh, causing injuries to his head and leg, before attacking him with sharp-edged weapons.
Bineesh was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
He was murdered just an hour after a Communist Party of India (Marxist) supporter sustained injuries when the car he was travelling in was attacked by a country-made bomb in Kannur.
