1. National Level Volleyball Player Hacked to Death in West Bengal
A national-level woman volleyball player was hacked to death allegedly by a youth in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district on Friday.
Aich was taken to the hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the youth. Police suspect a love angle may be the reason behind the murder.

2. Small Time Telugu Actor Held for Attempt to Murder
A small-time Tollywood actor, Uday Kiran, was arrested on the charge of attempt to murder for allegedly assaulting an employee at a hotel in Jubilee Hills area in Hyderabad, according to PTI report.
He has also been booked on charges of trespass and mischief causing loss or damage, under relevant sections of IPC.
The police said that the hotel management lodged a complaint, after which the accused was detained on Thursday and subsequently placed under arrest. He was later sent to judicial remand. Further probe is on.
3. Woman Sets House Of Husband’s Murderer on Fire
A woman from Gujarat, along with her three female relatives, allegedly set the house of a 34-year-old man on fire to avenge the murder of her husband, according to PTI report.
Police arrested all the four women in connection with the incident at Mahendra village in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday morning.
Damor is currently absconding. In order to take revenge, Singh’s wife Jhailabai (33) along with Badlibai (37), Badribai (36) and Raeela (28) reached Mahendra village and allegedly set ablaze Damor’s house.
4. Youth Hacked to Death by Four
A 21-year-old youth was allegedly hacked to death in a brutal attack by four people, including two juveniles in outer Delhi’s Rohini sub-city, on Holi evening, according to a PTI report.
Police have apprehended the four accused in the case.
The victim, identified as Rahul, saw a group of persons engaged in a brawl over some dispute related to Holi celebrations in sector 20 market of Rohini. He entered into an argument with some youths in the group. Soon the accused allegedly started thrashing Rahul and when he tried to run away, four of them chased him down and hacked him brutally with knives.
A case of murder has been registered in this connection at Begumpur police station. During interrogation, it emerged that all accused were in an inebriated state when the incident took place.
5. Police Arrests 3 For Kidnapping and Raping 32-Year-Old Woman
Three people were arrested on Friday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 32-year-old woman in Madurai, according to a PTI report.
Police said a gang of six youths in their mid-20s, kidnapped the woman while she was returning from work on Thursday night and took her to a bushy area, where they raped her. The woman used to work in a rice mill.
On receiving information from the local people, who heard the woman’s screams, police rushed to the spot and admitted the victim to a hospital. During the investigation, the woman identified three accused while three others are absconding.
6. Mother Kills 7-Year-Old Daughter With Help of Lover
A woman and her paramour were arrested for allegedly killing the woman’s seven-year-old daughter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The accused said that the daughter, Ikra, was an obstacle to their relationship.
According to the police, the accused were arrested on Thursday from Loni railway station, when they were trying to flee.
During the investigation, the police smelled some foul play in the role of Ikra’s mother and started to keep a watch on her.
The duo confessed that they smothered Ikra to death and stuffed the body in the bed and later threw it at an isolated place.

7. Man Murders Woman After She Resists Rape
Police arrested a man for murdering the wife of his employer after she resisted an attempt to rape in Ambarnath area of Thane district in Maharashtra, according to a PTI report.
The accused Manoranjan alias Rakal Siddhershwar Murkud (24) was arrested on Thursday night.
Murkud worked in the jeans-making unit run by the victim’s husband, and stayed in the same locality, the police said. He has been remanded in police custody till April 1. Further probe is on.
8. 35-Year-Old Man Thrashed to Death in Delhi
A 35-year-old man died after he was allegedly thrashed by a group of people, two of them his friends, following a heated argument in outer Delhi’s Alipur area, according to PTI report.
The victim has been identified as Suraj, a native of West Bengal, who worked as a driver for a transport firm. He had joined some friends for drinks on Thursday evening after celebrating Holi but got involved in a heated argument with them.
In no time, a scuffle ensued and Suraj was thrashed until he became unconscious. He was thereafter thrown into a canal in the Alipur area by his assailants, the police said.
Suraj’s body was recovered from the canal on Friday.
9. Dead-Body of a Woman Found Inside an Apartment in Delhi
The body of an unidentified woman was found in a decomposed state inside a house in central Delhi’s Paharganj area on Friday.
According to police, after the locals complained of a stench emanating from the house, a search of the premises led to the discovery of the body inside a rented accommodation which was locked from outside.
A case of murder has been registered by the police and inquiry has into the matter has begun. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained, police added.
Meanwhile, after neither the locals nor the landlord could identify the woman, police booked a case against the landlord for non-compliance with tenant verification rules.
