A class VII student died after his classmate allegedly hit his head on the classroom wall in northeast Delhi’s Karawal Nagar on Thursday morning, police said. The incident took place when the students were attending an extra class, police said, adding that no teacher was present in the class at the time of the incident.
The family has alleged that the boy had objected to being bullied.

The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch — investigating the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) scam — has questioned senior officials of the National Board of Examination (NBE), sources said, adding that they have denied their involvement in the case.
Sources said the investigation officer (IO) in the case recently summoned the former and present executive directors, deputy director and additional director of NBE.

Police arrested a businessman on Thursday, 26 October, for allegedly shooting dead his wife at point-blank range, a day after he claimed that the 34-year-old woman was killed by hired assailants of a financier whom he owed lakhs of rupees.
Police said they cracked the case after evaluating forensic evidence and scanning CCTV footage from the crime spot in outer Delhi’s Rohini where Pankaj Mehra had claimed his wife, Priya, was killed by 3-4 unidentified men who waylaid his car early on Wednesday.
He had claimed that he and his two-year-old son escaped as the assailant’s pistol jammed after the first two shots.

A man suspected to have pushed his wife and four minor daughters off a moving train passing through Uttar Pradesh is also a suspect in the murder of his brother-in-law seven years ago, police said on Thursday.
“Police are on the hunt for Iddu Mian, 42, and his phone’s location has been tracked to Jammu,” said Binod Kumar Singh, inspector general, Government Railway Police (GRP), Lucknow.

Reaper, the malware that is taking over millions of devices around the world, is a highly evolved and advanced malware capable of taking over devices by identifying and exploiting their vulnerabilities, and hiding its own presence in the device, Maharashtra cyber police officers said on Thursday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday registered case against Karnataka minister KJ George in connection with the suicide of a police officer, MK Ganapathi.
The CBI also registered case against Inspector General of Police (IGP), Lokayukta, Bengaluru, Pranab Mohanty and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) state intelligence AM Prasad. All three have been named as accused in the case.

A seven-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by her 18-year-old neighbour, is battling for life at a government hospital in Muzaffarpur, police said on Wednesday. The child was found unconscious in a field next to the house of the accused, Panbabu Sah, on 20 October.
Representatives of the Madhopur panchayat, around 71 km north of Patna, allegedly persuaded the child's family to not report the incident to the police station. On Tuesday, however, the girl’s mother decided to fight for justice for her daughter, and lodged a police complaint.
