Jharkhand police detained three boys of the Ghatishala hostel on Wednesday, where 10-year-old Rama Chandra Giri was found murdered, amidst claims that he was killed for being a witness to sexual activities between a senior boy and a 12-year-old girl.
Although the police did not support the claim officially, it is known that one of the boys confessed to the reason.
The officer-in-charge told The Telegraph that the forensic experts were yet to send the finger prints for exam at a Ranchi-based lab.

The National Commission for Women (NSW) has asked the Centre to take stern action against the doctors at Motihari Sadar Hospital in Bihar who conducted the banned two-finger test on a 17-year-old-rape survivor.

Various teams of investigators have been conducting door-to-door enquiries on the murder case of the Infosys techie, S Swathi, since Tuesday.
Swathi’s friend and colleague confirmed that it was a stalker who killed the 24-year-old techie, The Deccan Chronicle reported.
She told the police that she saw a man following them on 10 and 11 June when they were on their way to the Nungambakkam railway station. She also said that the CCTV image of Swathi’s murderer matched the man who had stalked them.

A 21-year-old powerloom worker was arrested on Wednesday in connection to the suicide of a girl. He had morphed a semi-nude photo of hers and posted it on Facebook.
On Monday, unable to deal with the humiliation, 21-year-old Vinupriya hanged herself to death in Salem.
According to The Asian Age, police said a one-sided love affair lead the accused Suresh to post Vinupriya’s morphed photos online.
Suresh has been arrested on charges of abetment to suicide and under six sections of the Prevention of Crime against Women Act.
Two teenaged sons of a 40-year-old woman hacked their mother to death with a sickle over suspicions of her having illicit relationships, in Ludhiana, on Wednesday.

A senior Tripura Civil Service officer, Panna Ahmed was suspended on Wednesday after an FIR was lodged against him alleging that he had raped a woman.
In the FIR, a woman claimed that Ahmed had raped her when she went to his residence in South Ramnagar on Monday.
On the basis of her complaint, a search warrant has been issued against the absconding accused, Superintendent of police (Police Control) Uttam Bhowmick said.

A case was filed by Andheri police on Wednesday against a male school teacher for allegedly passing lewd comments at 10th standard girl, TheTimes of India reported.
In the complaint filed by the 16-year-old student’s mother, she said:
Senior inspector, Pandit Thorat, said the suspect has not yet been arrested as they want to investigate the “sensitive“ case thoroughly so that he does not get a chance to escape.
The teacher has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

A woman and her paramour were arrested on Wednesday for murdering her husband and injuring her father-in-law a few days ago, police said.

He was arrested by Delhi Police on Saturday on charges of allegedly misbehaving with a group of women. His bail plea was earlier rejected and he was sent to 14-day judicial custody.
