The sole survivor in the Thane mass murder massacre said to Mumbai Mirror that she had caught her brother sexually abusing one of their sisters.
Subiya Bharmal, 22, said on Friday that Hasnain Warekar, 35, kept up a facade of normalcy in the outside world but acted out of deep and misplaced feelings of resentment.
In her first public account of the February 28 horror in Thane, she also told Mumbai Mirror that her brother Hasnain Warekar, 35, had been sexually abusing their younger sister with mental health problems. The family learned about the abuse on 6 February — a development that unsettled Hasnain and was perhaps one factor in his baffling motive to slit the throats of 14 family members, including eight children, in his house.

Hyderabad police is searching for one Ahmed Bin Sadiq who has allegedly killed his house owner by head butting, a report in Deccan Chronicle suggests. The incident happened on Friday evening when the 40-year-old owner asked Sadiq, who stayed with his wife and children, to leave his place.
The victim Ghouse Khan was beaten up by Sadiq but the head-butt proved to be fatal. He died later on Friday. Sadiq is still absconding.

The Central Bureaou of Investigation in its chargesheet has claimed that former media baron Peter Mukerjea has misled his son Rahul about Sheena, reports The Indian Express. Peter is now the co-accused in the Sheena Bora murder case in which Indrani is the main accused.
In the chargesheet, CBI said that Peter had claimed to Rahul that Sheena doesn’t want to speak with him. However, Rahul was insistent that he wants “some hardcore factual evidence that Sheena is okay.”

Senior BJP leader Ranjit Patil is in trouble as a Mumbai-based advocate has complained against him. Patil, who is the MoS for Home, allegedly forged the signature of a dead farmer to sell off land in Akola.
The 52-year old Patil was a former orthopaedic surgeon. ACB officials have confirmed to Mumbai Mirror that a complaint of this nature has been received while Patil dismissed this as a “politically motivated” allegation.

A minor girl was beaten up on Thursday evening for ‘not resisting rape’ by her 55-year old father in Satara district, according to The Times of India. The father was also beaten up on orders from a caste panchayat.
Four members were arrested on Friday in connection with this act. The 13-year-old girl was whipped many times as a part of a ‘cleansing ritual’.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in Kashmir on Thursday night in connection to murdering a senior citizen in Mumbai, according to a report in The Indian Express.
The accused identified as Rafiq Mohammed Chowdhury murdered the 74-year-old because he feared losing his job. He worked in the maintenance department at Rizwan Apartment housing society in Jogeshwari.

A gang of five was arrested on Wednesday in Mumbai, reports Mid-day. The gang which includes four Nigerian men and a Navi Mumbai-based woman conned a former state government employee of Rs 78 lakh, but that was not the only case againt them.
Their modus operandi was to dupe people into selling ‘cancer curing seeds’ which in essence is a Nigerian soup ingredient. The reach of the gang extended to Gurgaon, Bengaluru and Pune.
The cops have also recovered 34 mobile phones, 10 pen drives, four dongles, 4 hard disks and 10 kilograms of Benevola seeds from them.

A woman warden has been booked in Tamil Nadu for sexually abusing a minor boy over several months, a report in The New Indian Express suggests. The case was filed against her after the Child Welfare Committee complained to the police. The 14-year-old tried to flee from home twice after repeated sexual exploitation.
