Two children from the Dalit community were allegedly beaten to death by two men for defecating at a spot close to the house of the attackers in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district on Wednesday morning, the police said.
The two victims – 10-year-old Avinash Balmiki and his female relative, 12-year-old Roshni Balmiki – lived in Bhavkhedi village, about 20km away from the district headquarters.
They went to defecate around 5.30am at a spot near the house of the two accused, brothers Hakim Yadav, 35, and Rameshwar Yadav, 40, said police.

A six-year-old girl was gang-raped by a 13-year old boy and his friend in south Delhi’s RK Puram on Monday night.
The incident was reported after the survivor’s sister spotted the accused taking her to a secluded area. She ran to call her mother and informed her. Police have apprehended the juveniles and they were produced before the juvenile justice board. The girl is also undergoing counselling.
The girl’s mother reported the matter to police.

A Delhi court on Wednesday directed technology company, Apple, to give the location details of expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar on the day the 17-year-old girl from Unnao was allegedly raped by him.
District judge Dharmesh Sharma, holding an in-chamber proceedings, directed the iPhone-maker to file the reply by September 28 when it will next hear the matter, a lawyer related to the case said. The court, meanwhile, recorded the statement of a CISF official in the case related to the murder of Unnao rape survivor’s father.
The 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the expelled BJP MLA in 2017, when she was still a minor. The court had also framed charges against Sengar, representing Bangermau in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, in the rape case.

A 33-year-old man, who walked into a police station on Sunday morning and said he murdered his wife because he suspected her of being in a relationship with another man, was helped by his brother in chopping her body into pieces and dump them in their septic tank and a drain, police said.
Four recorded telephonic conversations the 33-year-old suspect, Ashu (who goes by a single name), had with his mother-in-law after the crime helped investigators learn about his brother Tarun’s involvement in the crime, a police officer associated with the case said.
Tarun, 25, is absconding since the day Ashu walked into outer Delhi’s Prem Nagar police station around 11 am on Sunday and confessed to killing his wife, Seema.

Two alleged criminals who have been actively extorting from traders were injured in a shootout with police in outer Delhi’s Najafgarh in early Wednesday, police said.
While 36-year-old Surjeet was hit in his arm, his associate Parmod was shot in his leg, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, deputy commissioner of police (special cell), said.
Their third associate, 24-year-old Nishant, escaped unhurt and surrendered.

Police have arrested a youth on charges of sexually abusing a 19-year-old woman and extorting money from her after threatening to circulate her nude photos on the social media.
The victim’s family had complained to Union Home Minister Amit Shah that it was a case of “love jihad” and there was an attempt to convert the woman.
The accused, who is Muslim, is from Kozhikode Rural district and the Christian woman is from Kozhikode city. The accused has been charged with rape, criminal intimidation and extortion and remanded in judicial custody. It is learnt that he and the victim have been classmates.

A 65-year-old woman died here on Wednesday after being struck with a stick by her son, while he was engaged in a fight with his wife, police said.
The incident took place at Dadpur Musahari village under the jurisdiction of Kodha police station of the district, when the man picked up a quarrel with his wife and started beating her following which his mother tried to intervene, Sub Divisional Police Officer Anil Kumar said.

A woman was arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a one-year-old girl from a slum in Govandi, an eastern suburb, on Wednesday, police said.
The woman, identified as Kaashibai Ratnu Pawar (28), from Akkalkot in Solapur district of Maharashtra, was arrested by the Shivaji Nagar police.
In her police complaint, Rizwana Babar Sheikh, the mother of the child, said that her daughter was playing outside their shanty when the accused tried to kidnap her, a police official said.

A nephew of a Shiv Sena leader was shot dead allegedly by motorcycle-borne men here on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar (45), nephew of Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Ahuja, they said.
Three motorcycle-borne men intercepted Amit Kumar's car near his house in Chiranjiv Vihar colony in the afternoon and fired at him indiscriminately. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed during treatment, Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said.
