1. Six People Undergo Polygraph Test In Sunanda Pushkar Case

Six people, including three “prime witnesses” in the Sunanda Pushkar death case, were put through lie detector test, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said.

Our investigation is continuing and whatever is required to be done will be done. So far we have carried out polygraph tests on six persons. If there is any requirement we will conduct further tests.

2. Minor Blast in Army Camp in Baramulla Injures two Officials

Srinagar, June 22 (PTI) A minor blast took place inside an army camp in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Monday, injuring two field officials of an intelligence agency, official sources said.

They said the injured officials, who are not from the army, were shifted to army’s 92 base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment.

3. Former Councillor Assaulted by Women for Eve-Teasing

A former councillor was assaulted by women on Monday in Sharda Nagar of Uttar Pradesh, police said.

The councillor, Shyam Sundar Sachdev, was beaten up the women belonging to Sharda Nagar locality for eve-teasing girls passing by the Ambala road under Thana Qutubsher in Saharanpur, police said.

4. Several Unauthorised Digital Banners Removed in Chennai

The Chennai District Collector on Monday informed the Madras High Court that as on June 14, several unauthorised hoardings and 9287 digital banners have been removed and 76 FIR’s have been filed in respect of violations.

When the contempt petition filed by “Traffic” Ramaswamy on the unauthorised digital banners and hoardings came up before the First Bench Comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice T S Sivagnanam, an interim report was filed by the Monitoring Committee headed by Justice S Rajeswaran (retired) and affidavit by the Collector were filed.

5. PLFI Ultras, Sympathisers Held in Jharkhand

Two People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) ultras and two of its sympathisers were arrested from two places of extremist-hit Khunti district of Jharkhand on Monday, police said.

PLFI activists Karam Singh Munda and Karan Hasa Purty were arrested from Raboli village under Murhu police station during a search operation launched by the security personnel, Superintendent of Police Anish Gupta said.

6. Foreign Currency Seized at Mangaluru Airport

Customs officials at the Mangaluru international airport have seized foreign currency equivalent to Rs 7.54 lakh from a passenger who was about to board a flight to Dubai.

The passenger had in his possession foreign currency including 18,250 Saudi Arabian riyals, 1,075 UAE dirhams, 860 Kuwait dinars, 3,650 Qatar riyals, 55 Bahrain dinars and 500 US dollars in various denominations, Customs Assistant Commissioner V Selvadurai said on Monday.

7. 55-year-old man Shot for Resisting Robbery in UP

A 55-year-old contractor was shot at for allegedly resisting a robbery attempt by six armed men at Dehpa village in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred last night when the assailants attacked victim Yakub Ali’s house under Pilkhuwa police station and started looting at gun-point, they said.

8. HC Issues Notice to Rajinikanth on a Petition by a Financier

The Madras High Court on Monday ordered issue of notice to Tamil superstar Rajinikant on a plea by a financier seeking to initiate action against Kasthoori Raja, father of the actor’s son-in-law.

The financier Mukund Botra contended that Kasthoori Raja had given a written assurance to him that if he fails to repay the money he borrowed, Rajanikant would repay it.

9. Banned Drug Worth Rs 7 Cr Seized, 5 Held in Hyderabad

Five people were arrested and 14 kgs of Methamphetamine, a banned psychotropic drug, worth Rs 7 Cr in the international market was seized from them on Monday, police said.

Sleuths of the Special Operation Team (East Zone) arrested the five accused - I Ramesh, Santosh Kumar, B Anil, Roshan and K Ramchander, a release from Cyberabad police said, while transporting the drug to Chennai.
