Three Nigerian men were Friday, 1 June, found dead under mysterious circumstances in a flat in Uttam Nagar. The bodies were found by the landlady and her son, who informed police. They have been identified as Benjamin (33), Christopher (30) and David.
“We haven’t got any documents belonging to the third man, and only know that he went by the name David. The other two men were here on a business visa and were involved in exporting clothes to Nigeria,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shibesh Singh.
Police have been unable to ascertain the cause of death. “There were no external injuries on the bodies. We have ruled out murder as a possibility,” Singh said.

Palwal police has arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting and murdering a five-year-old girl, whose body was found inside a drum in his home, hours after the crime Thursday, 31 May. The accused worked as a domestic help at the victim’s house, police said.
According to police, the child went missing from her home around 1:30 pm Thursday.
Police accessed CCTV footage from a camera installed at the home of the victim’s neighbour.
“The footage showed the accused leading the child through the area,” said inspector Surender, SHO of Sadar Palwal police station.

A 32-year-old teacher from a Mumbra coaching centre was arrested on Wednesday, 30 May, for allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old student. He has been booked under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.
The victim’s mother in her complaint has alleged that two more people are involved in the crime and that two other students were victimised by the accused. Police are investigating the allegations.
The coaching centre is run by the wife of the accused. Senior inspector of Mumbra police station Kishor Pasalkar said, “We have arrested the teacher on allegations of sodomising a 12-year-old boy who came to study at the coaching classes. He was arrested on the charges of unnatural offences and those under POCSO.”

A 22-year-old youth was murdered and his body found abandoned at a deserted location in Pratap Vihar area in Dadri on Friday morning. The victim has been identified as Rahman, an original resident of West Bengal.
The body had several injuries especially on the neck and it appeared he was stabbed to death.
Nishank Sharma, circle officer, Dadri, said the victim lived in a rented accommodation in the neighbourhood. He worked as a labourer unloading goods from trains at Dadri railway station. On Friday morning, local residents spotted a body in a vacant plot and informed police.
The police launched an investigation and established his identity.

A 36-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Subhash Nagar area of the district with his family suspecting foul play in the death. Arvind Balmiki was found dead on Thursday night in Chawari village.
A resident of Kandherpur area of Cantonment, Arvind is survived by wife and six-year-old son. In 2003, he was booked for murder of his neighbour, Mukesh Sharma. And in 2015, he got bail.
Arvind’s brother Ashu Balmiki alleged that he has been murdered.

A man strangled his wife to death and later surrendered himself at the SSP’s residence over suspicion that she was having an extramarital affair. The incident took place in Anupam nagar under Subhash Nagar police station here on Friday evening. An FIR has been registered.
The deceased has been identified as Chaya Verma, 26 and her husband is Sanjeev Verma. They were married for six years and have a two-year-old son, Vansh. The couple worked as salespersons at a cloth shop.

A teenager committed suicide by hanging himself in Daund area of Pune on Thursday, 31 May, a day after the Maharashtra state board of secondary and higher secondary education declared the higher secondary certificate (HSC) examination (Class 12) results on Wednesday.
The police said that the 17-year-old victim was identified as Prakash Sopan Mhaske, a resident of Dalimb village in Daund. He was a student at Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalay in Uruli Kanchan area.
Prakash, who hung himself in the house when his parents were out at work, had failed the Class 12 exams that he had appeared in a few months ago.

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a man at a village in Manesar on Wednesday night, 30 May. The accused lived in the same neighbourhood.
Police said that the accused attacked the minor while she was sleeping on the roof.
The minor’s father, who was sleeping with her on the roof, had gone downstairs to administer medicine to his ailing wife when the accused allegedly forced himself on her, the police said. Her mother was sleeping in a room.
Police said that the minor’s eight-year-old brother had also decided to sleep on the roof. He was too scared to raise the alarm as the accused attacked his sister, police said.

Two persons have been arrested on the charge of circulating “old and misleading videos” on social media about attack on churches in Mangaluru, police said on Friday.
The video, claiming fresh attacks on churches by right-wing activists, was circulated widely on WhatsApp just after the results of assembly elections were out on 15 May.
But it was found to be a copy of the attacks on churches that occurred in September, 2008, police said.
