Punjab and Haryana High Court Stays Jat Reservation Bill

The Punjab and Haryana High Court, on Thursday, stayed the Haryana government’s decision to grant reservation to the Jat community.
The Haryana assembly had unanimously passed a bill to provide reservation to Jats and four other communities which was followed by immediate opposition from other communities.
A total of 30 people were killed and over 320 injured and property worth hundreds of crores was destroyed as the agitation turned violent.
