Pune Techie Murder: Infosys Reviews Security and Asks for Calm

A 25-year-old Infosys techie was found murdered in her Pune office and a security guard was arrested in the case.

After K Rasila Raju, an Infosys software engineer, was murdered at her office in Pune by a security guard, the information technology company has swung into action. In a statement, Infosys has said that it would reevaluate its employee deployment and consult an expert consultant to review its security measures, reports The Economic Times.

The company received over 9,000 suggestions regarding safety from the employees in the aftermath of the murder, said chief operating officer, UB Pravin Rao in an email.

We understand that many of you are shaken by the incident and now feel like you have to be on guard even within our campuses. I want to assure each of you that our campuses will continue to be safe and that we have and always will focus on employee safety.

He said that the company will be reviewing rosters, “especially where single team members are required.” Furthermore, company would extend its work-from-home facility, including laptops, he added.

Raju (25) was found murdered at her workstation in Infosys' Pune campus. One of the security guards at the company's office was arrested in connection with the case.
