Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Deesa in Gujarat on Saturday and inaugurated a milk cooperative dairy plant, among other projects. Following the inauguration he addressed a rally of farmers and commented on demonetisation.
The currency ban, Modi said, is part of his fight against terrorism and that the ban on higher currency notes has been imposed for the betterment of the poor.
Commenting on the importance of digital transactions, the PM added:
The issue of terminating black money was once again invoked as an important goal of demonetisation during the speech.
In his speech, Modi also referred to the ruckus recently created in the Parliament by the Opposition during the Winter session over the last couple of days.
He inaugurated a Rs 350 crore cheese plant at Banas Dairy and later launched 'Amul Deshi A2' cow milk, which ill be marketed by Amul in Ahmedabad.
He addressed a huge rally of farmers after the inauguration. He is later expected to visit BJP’s state headquarters ‘Shri Kamalam’ in Ahmedabad.
