On Wednesday, October 4, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Kerala must learn from Uttar Pradesh how hospitals should be run.”
Just weeks after Adityanath’s comment, President Ram Nath Kovind has heaped praise on the state during his speech in Thiruvananthapuram.
Lauding the role of the Malyalee community in the development of India, Kovind said it has become the global face of India.
Recounting his maiden visit abroad to Ethiopia, Kovind said people there are emotional about the impact of Indian school teachers on their lives three to four decades ago. “A large number of those pioneering school teachers were from Kerala,” he said.
He added that as far back as two thousand years ago, Roman ships used to come to the Malabar Coast, followed by merchant ships from Arabia and Europe who came to the ports of Kerala searching for spices.
