Prime Minister Narendra Modi, late night on Monday, 26 August, returned to India after concluding his three nation visit to France, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi in a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit said that all issues between India and Pakistan are “bilateral.” Trump on Monday said that he spoke to PM Modi on the Kashmir situation and is assured that he has it under control.

Earlier at the summit, PM Modi addressed world leaders on the topic of ‘Biodiversity, Oceans, and Climate.’

PM Modi to Receive UAE's Highest Civil Decoration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third official visit to the UAE on 23-24 August is another important milestone in the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and the Indian community is looking forward to it, India's envoy in the country has said.

During the visit, the prime minister would receive the 'Order of Zayed', the highest civil decoration of the country for "giving a big boost to bilateral relations between the two countries."

Modi would also meet the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss bilateral, regional and international matters of mutual interest.

US President Donald Trump has said that he would discuss with Prime Minister Narendra Modi the situation in Kashmir and help ease the Indo-Pak tensions when they meet at the G7 Summit in France this weekend.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said he was happy to try and help calm the situation in Kashmir amidst fresh Indo-Pak tensions after India revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

"I'm going to be with Prime Minister Modi. I'll be with him over the weekend in France," Trump said, referring to the G7 Summit in Biarritz, France during the weekend.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday arrived in France on the first leg of his three-nation tour during which he will have a summit interaction with President Emmanuel Macron to further boost the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.

Prime Minister Modi was received by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian at the airport in Paris.

During his two-day visit, Modi will also meet his French counterpart Edouard Philippe and interact with the Indian community.

He will dedicate a memorial to the Indian victims of the two Air India crashes in France in the 1950s and 1960s.

Will Tell Pak PM to Hold Bilateral Talks Only: President Macron

Addressing India’s tense situation with Pakistan, post abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, French President Emmanuel Macron has suggested that talks be held at a bilateral level only between the two countries, without any third party interfering or inciting violence.

“PM told me about the recent decision taken by India and that it is in their sovereignty. I said Pakistan & India will have to find a solution together & no third party should interfere or incite violence.It’s important that peace is maintained there (J&K). A senior US administration official during a media briefing on the G7 summit said that President Donald Trump is likely to hear from PM Narendra Modi on how he plans to reduce regional tensions and uphold respect for human rights in Kashmir, reports news agency ANI.

“President Trump is also calling for Pakistan to prevent cross-border infiltration across the LoC & stop groups’ bases on its soil that have attacked India in the past.”

"In times of sorrow also, India and France stand with each other. In the two air crashes, we lost many Indian passengers, including Homi Bhabha. Those who lost their lives, I pay tribute to them. This is an example of empathy the people of the two countries have for each other," Modi reportedly said in his address to the Indian community at the UNESCO headquarters after inaugurating the memorial through video-conferencing.
