India and Malaysia on Saturday agreed to strengthen their strategic partnership for mounting an effective response to common challenges of terrorism and extremism during the talks Prime Minister Narendra Modi had with his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razad.
The two countries have inked seven pacts following the delegation-level talks including an air services agreement.
The two Prime Ministers held restricted as well as delegation-level talks which ran the gamut of bilateral relations, including cultural, economic and strategic engagement.
After the talks between Modi and Najib, the two sides inked seven pacts, including one related to air services and cooperation in development of a fertiliser plant in Malaysia with off-take of surplus urea by India.
Earlier in the day, Razak was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Thereafter he called on President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, too, called on the visiting dignitary.
Razak arrived in Chennai on Thursday on a six-day visit to India and reached New Delhi on Friday evening.
He will also visit Jaipur on Sunday where he will meet Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia.
The is the Malaysian Prime Minister's third official visit to India.
