Calling Kejriwal a Terrorist Not a Mistake: BJP’s Parvesh Verma

Days after his “terrorist” jibe at AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BJP’s Parvesh Verma on Monday, 3 February, refused to call it a mistake, stating that if Kejriwal will speak ill of the Prime Minister, then “whatever is spoken about the CM is less.”

“I spoke after giving a proper thought to it and I don’t think I made any mistake. If Delhi’s CM speaks ill of prime minister, whatever is spoken about the CM is less,” Parvesh told ANI.

AAP Approaches EC Against Verma, Other BJP Leaders

In response, AAP MP Sanjay Singh challenged the centre to arrest Kejriwal.

“How can a central minister be permitted to use such language? If Arvind Kejriwal is a terrorist, I challenge BJP to arrest him.”

AAP, on Monday, approached the Election Commission against BJP leaders, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Yogi Adityanath and Verma, over their “objectionable” remarks Kejriwal and demanded an FIR against them.

Talking to reporters after meeting Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, Sanjay Singh said the BJP does not have any issue to raise in the Delhi Assembly election and alleged that the party is trying to defer the poll scheduled for 8 February.

“We met CEC and raised the issue of statements of several BJP leaders. BJP MP Parvesh Verma called the chief minister a terrorist. We also demanded action against UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his Pakistan remark against the Delhi CM,” he claimed.

Plenty of Proof Kejriwal’s a Terrorist: Javadekar

Earlier, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar gave backing to Verma’s remarks saying there was “plenty of proof” that Kejriwal was a terrorist, ANI reported.

“Kejriwal is making an innocent face and asking if he is a terrorist. You are a terrorist, there is plenty of proof for it.”

“You yourself had said you are an anarchist, there is not much difference between an anarchist and a terrorist,” he added, but did not substantiate his statement any further.

Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday, had addressed the media over BJP MP Parvesh Verma’s remarks where he had called him a “terrorist” and accused him on inciting violence in the National Capital.

Verma, addressing an election meeting in Madipur Assembly constituency, reportedly said: "Kejriwal jaise natwarlal, Kejriwal jaise atankwadi is desh mein chhupe baithe hain (Natwarlals and terrorists like Kejriwal are hiding in this country.)"

Later, Verma said his statement was distorted by Kejriwal and his party and alleged the AAP chief was an expert in "creating drama".
