Between students, working class Indians, activists, celebrities, journalists and political leaders, thousands across the country gathered under the banner of #NotInMyName to protest the frequent incidents of mob lynchings in India, and the increasing climate of fear minorities are facing.

Be it the ruthless murder of DSP Ayub Pandith by a mob outside Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, or Junaid bleeding to death on a train platform, onlookers remained blind and mute in the face of murderous violence.

Protesters came together from all corners of the country on 28 June to condemn the barbaric mob killings that are on the rise. Here’s a glimpse of the protest.
