As the Budget Session is set to pick up from the third day, after the presentation of the Union Budget on Saturday, Opposition parties are likely to corner the government in Parliament on issues related to CAA, NPR and NRC, sources told news agency PTI.
The Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Left parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and some others have already given adjournment notices in the Rajya Sabha demanding immediate discussion on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), National Population Register (NPR) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Few Opposition MP’s in the Lok Sabha created an uproar during the Budget Session, over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens. “Goli maarna band karo, desh ko todna bandh karo,” the Opposition leaders chanted in the lower house of the parliament.
As Minister of State for Finance, Anurag Thakur started addressing the Lok Sabha, he was met with ‘Goli maarna band karo’ from the Opposition camp, over his instigating speech at a Delhi election rally.
Thakur, while addressing a rally in the national capital, had raised ‘desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maaro s***on ko (shoot those who betray the nation)’ chants, which led to a 72 hour campaigning ban on the BJP leader.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, while speaking during the ongoing Budget session, said in the Lok Sabha that the current government is unleashing cruelty on the students.
He said that the government knows that students are being assaulted. "Yeh jaante hain ki ek bachche ki aankh chali gayi, betiyon ko maar rahe hain. Sharam nahi hai inko, bachchon ko maar rahe hain, goliyaan mar rahe hain. (They know that one kid lost his eye. They are beating up daughters. They have no shame, they are beating up kids, shooting them.)," Owaisi said.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, while addressing the Lok Sabha, said that the common people of India are protesting to save the constitution, but are being shot at. He said that they are protesting while holding the constitution and singing the national anthem but they are being fired at. "People of India are being killed mercilessly," Chowdhury said.
The Opposition staged a walkout in Lok Sabha as BJP MP from Delhi, Parvesh Verma started speaking during a discussion on motion of thanks on the President's address.
Opposition’s walkout came over Verma’s instigating speeches during a rally in Delhi, where he said that Shaheen Bagh protesters will “enter people’s home and rape and kill women.” Verma had also said that if the BJP comes to power in Delhi, all the mosques will be demolished.

Union Minister & BJP leader Prakash Javadekar in Rajya Sabha said, “the appeal of the convicts was rejected by Supreme Court in 2017 but jail authorities took more than a year to complete the process for informing the convicts. The delay is due to the state government.”
In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, MoS Home Nityanand Rai said, “Till now, the government has not taken any decision to prepare National Register of Indian Citizens (NRIC) at the national level.”
He was responding to questions raised about whether the Government has any plan to introduce National Register of Citizens (NRC) all over the country.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Tuesday, told the ruling government that several Shaheen Bagh’s will come up in the country if they function like they have been all this while.
While addressing the Rajya Sabha, Azad said, "If you had brought constructive matters, we would have bowed before you, but you brought destruction. What is Shaheen Bagh? It is your creation. If you will do such work, then Shaheen Bagh will come up everywhere in India.”
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the government has prepared a scheme for the construction of Ram Mandir.
“We have readied a scheme for the development of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. A trust has been formed, called Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Shetra,” he said.

“We have kept the fiscal deficit in check. Price rise is also under check and there is macro-economic stability. Investor confidence should increase, the country's economy should be strengthened, for this we have also taken several steps.” PM Modi said in his Lok Sabha address.
He further appealed to states to allow “farmers to benefit from PM-Kisan Scheme.”
“I appeal to them, please let there be no politics in farmer welfare. We all have to work together for the prosperity of farmers of India,” he said.
The ‘save Constitution’ mantra is a must for those who dismissed several state governments and enforced emergency, PM modi said in a swipe at the Congress in LS.

Misconception about the right to Internet being a fundamental right needs to be cleared, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, emphasising that the country's security was equally important.
Communications, Information Technology, Electronics and Law and Justice Minister Prasad during the Question Hour said communication of ideas and views through Internet are part of fundamental right to speech and expressions.
"The Supreme Court...has clearly stated that no lawyer argued that right to Internet is a fundamental right...This kind of misconception needs to be corrected. What the Supreme Court has stated is that for communication of your ideas and views the use of Internet will also to be held a part of your fundamental right of speech and expression," Prasad said in reply to a query.
Replying to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address in the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi listed the steps taken after scrapping of Article 370 and termed 5 August, 2019, the day of abrogation of the provision, as a “black day for terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir”.

In the Lok Sabha, LJP MP Chirag Paswan and Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel conveyed their disagreement with the Supreme Court judgment on reservations in promotions for SC/STs.
“Lok Jan Shakti Party does not agree with the Supreme Court's decision that reservations for jobs, promotions is not a fundamental right. We urge the Centre to intervene in this matter,” Paswan said.

The government has taken several steps, including tax refund scheme and enhanced credit to exporters, to boost outbound shipments, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Tuesday, 11 February, reports PTI.
Sitharaman added that Remission of Duties or Taxes on Export Product (RoDTEP) scheme will replace the existing Merchandise from India Scheme (MEIS), which is considered as non-compliant to global trade rules.
The minister said textiles and all other sectors, which currently enjoy incentives up to 2 per cent over MEIS, will transit to RoDTEP.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned on Tuesday till 2 March as the first part of the budget session ended, reports PTI.
The House will now meet between 2 March and 3 April during which the Union Budget will be taken up for passage.
