The crime branch of Bengaluru police arrested four persons, of which three were Pakistani nationals, on Wednesday, for allegedly entering the country illegally.
According to an official of the Kumaraswamy Layout police station, three fake Aadhaar were also recovered in the early morning raid based on a tip-off.
The two men and two women have been identified as Muhammed Shihab, Khasif Shamsuddin, Samira Abdul Rahman, and Kiron Ghulam Ali, said the official.
They had reportedly been living in Bengaluru for two months. City police Commissioner Praveen Sood told the media that at this point it is unclear why the three Pakistani nationals entered the country.
The source added that cases had been registered against the four persons under the Registration of Foreigners Act, and the Passport Act. Cases were also registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code, relating to theft, cheating, forgery, concealing information about criminal activity and other crimes.
Further information would be available only after investigations were completed, he added.
According to some initial news reports, the Pakistani nationals had entered India through Nepal.
