Pak Fighter Jet Carries Tricolour in I-Day Video, Embarrasses Govt
The video released by Ministry of Culture was put on Twitter, but was taken down soon after the discovery.

In the run up to Independence Day, the Ministry of Culture released a short promotional video to celebrate 70 years of India’s independence.
But the government was promptly put on an embarrassing back foot after it was discovered that the video featured a Pakistani fighter jet flying with the Indian tricolour.
Now the video, posted on Twitter, was immediately removed but not before a few screenshots had been captured.
The opening sequence of the over one minute long video displayed an animated few seconds of two JF-17 jets flying with the Indian flag.
The JF-17 jet is a joint venture of Pakistan and China, and both countries are lobbying to garner global supply orders for the jet. Pakistan intends to make it the main stay of its fighter fleet.
About the error in the video, a government source said it was an inadvertent mistake as the JF-17 looks similar to India’s Tejas light combat aircraft and it is difficult for an ordinary citizen to know the difference between the two types of aircraft.
However, realising the mistake, it was removed promptly, the source added.
Incidentally, Sri Lanka was in talks for the JF-17, but has rejected the aircraft and is now eyeing India’s Tejas.
