The Pakistan High Commission on Thursday issued 3,316 visas to Sikh pilgrims to attend Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations from 12 November, ANI reported.
Guru Nanak was born in what is known as Nankana Sahib in the present day Pakistan, which is close to Lahore. It is only three kilometres from the border that separates India and Pakistan.
There are over 170 shrines in Pakistan, however, the Pakistan High Commission grants visas to visit only six shrines.
Sikh devotees from Pakistan also visit India on the same occasion to visit the Golden Temple.
