Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently announced an ‘odd-even’ traffic plan to combat the city’s dangerous pollution levels, to be implemented from January 1, 2016. Under this plan, Delhi will have alternate days of exclusively even-numbered and odd-numbered cars on its roads. Many felt that the scheme is harebrained and will only serve to inconvenience the common man, while the wealthy remain unaffected.
