Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, 1 April, announced that a total of 766 people are admitted in hospitals in Delhi, out of which 112 have tested positive, while rest are showing symptoms.
“29 out of total 120 COVID-19 patients in Delhi contracted disease from people already infected with virus,” added Kejriwal.
He also announced that they will be tracking mobile phones of people under quarantine to check their movement.
“We handed over a list of 11084 phone numbers to police yesterday & 14345 phone numbers today of people who have been asked to remain in home quarantine. The police will track if they are following the instructions on home quarantine or not,” said Kejriwal.
Speaking about the people brought out of Markaz, the chief minister said 536 people have been admitted to hospitals.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal requested 10 lakh poor people in Delhi, who do not have ration card in Delhi, to apply for the ration card so that the state can provide them ration.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal announced that Rs 1 crore would be given to the families of healthcare personnel if they lose their lives while dealing with coronavirus cases in the national capital.
Interacting with doctors, the chief minister said that, at present, the Delhi government gives Rs 1 crore to the families of soldiers belonging to the national capital if they die in the line of duty.
"Your contribution is no less than a soldier's... If any healthcare personnal, including government or private doctor, nurse and sanitation workers, die while serving coronavirus patients, the government will give Rs 1 crore for their families," he said.
Kejriwal's interaction with doctors came after three doctors tested positive for COVID-19.
The official Aam Aadmi Party Delhi Twitter account later shared a clip of Kejriwal making the announcement.
So far, 120 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the national capital.
