The vehicle of a senior Uttar Pradesh government officer allegedly ran over the vegetables of a farmer at a state government-run market in Hapur district on Saturday, 16 November, during an anti-encroachment drive, NDTV reported.
The UP government has reportedly said it has investigated the case and removed the officer from his post due to his “deplorable conduct”. He has been asked to report to Lucknow.
According to locals, Kumar’s driver was driving the SUV, while the officer was nearby in the market, NDTV reported.
The farmer was allegedly selling vegetables without permission and spread out a sheet at the market.
