Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, one of the nodal facilities to combat the coronavirus, has reported the most number of COVID-19 fatalities in Delhi, official data showed Tuesday.
Till Sunday, 12 of the 24 deaths reported had taken place at RML Hospital, the data showed, PTI reported.

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday said that air travellers will not be allowed to enter the coastal state without a health certificate, after the Centre opens up airports once the COVID-19 lockdown is eased or lifted.
Speaking to PTI, Rane said that he had already urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to take up the issue with the Union Civil Aviation ministry to not allow air travellers to enter the state without a COVID-19 certificate.
Iran said on Tuesday that the number of lives lost in the country to the novel coronavirus dropped to double figures for the first time in one month, AFP reported.
Health ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said 98 deaths from the COVID-19 disease were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall toll to 4,683.

R Gangakhedkar, (ICMR) said, “Yesterday, we mentioned that we have kits that could last for six weeks. We have received another installment for RT-PCR kits which are far more sufficient in numbers, which would essentially mean that we would be able to cover ourselves for a long period of time.”
“Additionally, we are ordering close to about 33 Lakh kits for RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) and 37 Lakh rapid kits are expected to come at any point in time,” Gangakhedkar added.
"As on 13 April more than 32 crore poor people have been provided financial support of Rs 29,352 crore,” says the government.
“Swift implementation of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package is being monitored at the highest level. As of yesterday, more than 32 crore poor people have been given direct cash support of Rs 29,352 crore under the package,” said Rajesh Malhotra, Ministry of Finance.
“5.29 crore beneficiaries have been given free ration of food grains under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana. 3,985 MT of Pulses have been dispatched to various states/union territories for distribution,” Malhotra added.
Meanwhile, Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry added, “Till now 1,036 people have been cured. Yesterday, 179 people were diagnosed and found cured.”
“All pending payments of beneficiaries under MGNREGA have been cleared,” Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to PTI.
Tomar added, “Besides pensions additional cash is being transferred in accounts of more than two crore widows, senior citizens and specially-abled.”
The Delhi Police received over 800 calls on its 24x7 helpline number from 2 pm on Monday and the same time on Tuesday, seeking assistance on issues faced during the lockdown, officials said, PTI reported.
So far, a total of 19,987 calls were received by the police on its helpline (011-23469526) since the lockdown was announced on 24 March.
Consumer electronics major Samsung India on Tuesday committed Rs 20 crore towards combating the COVID-19 pandemic, PTI reported.
As part of its commitment, Samsung will donate Rs 15 crore to the PM-CARES Fund and Rs 5 crore to relief funds of state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, where it operates manufacturing units, the company said in a statement.

Like Dharavi in Mumbai, slum pockets located under Pune's Bhavani Peth and Kasba Vishrambaug areas among others have emerged as coronavirus hotspots accounting for majority of over 300 COVID-19 cases so far, officials said on Tuesday.
Densely-populated slum pockets in Bhavani Peth and under Kasba Vishrambaug and Dhole Patil ward offices have reported at least 158 COVID-19 cases, they said.
"Three more people who had tested positive for COVID-19 were cured and discharged in Sangli today. Twenty-five out of the total 26 positive cases reported in Sangli have been cured and discharged so far. The one admitted in hospital is also stable,” said Abhijeet Chaudhary, Sangli Collector in Maharashtra, ANI reported.

“It is matter of concern that cases of COVID-19 are increasing in the national capital,” said Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter.
Kejriwal added, “It was necessary to extend nationwide lockdown. If we follow lockdown rules, I think we will get rid of COVID-19.”
"Even at such a time, people are making things communal, sowing seeds of hate between Hindus and Muslims. This is against nature itself. People who contributing to hate, are also betraying their own country," said Kejriwal.
He also said that he will also personally assess the situation in the containment zones.

Residents of a city locality opposed the cremation of a doctor from Andhra Pradesh who died of COVID-19 in Chennai, forcing authorities to carry it out in another place overnight with a top official blaming 'coordination gap' for the unsavoury turn of events.
As the body of the 56-year old doctor, who died on Monday at a corporate hospital, was taken to the cremation ground in Ambattur area, the locals protested against it, saying it might lead to spread of coronavirus in their locality, police said on Tuesday.
"One ninety-seven cases have been registered and 37 people have been arrested till now for spreading misinformation on social media,” said Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, ANI reported.
“The global economy is projected to contract sharply by -3 percent in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, a much worse contraction than during the 2008–09 financial crisis as per the April 2020 World Economic Outlook,” said International Monetary Fund (IMF), ANI reported.
IMF added, “India is projected to grow at 1.9 percent in 2020.”
A total of 602 hospitals have been earmarked as dedicated COVID-19 facilities in coordination with states with a capacity of 1,06,719 isolation beds and 12,024 ICU beds reserved for such patients in the country, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
“Eight more COVID-19 cases reported in Punjab today, taking total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 184, including 27 cured and 13 deaths. Of the eight positive cases today, six have contact history and two have a history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI),” said state health department.
“204 coronavirus positive cases and 11 deaths reported in Mumbai today. The total number of positive cases in Mumbai rises to 1,753 (including 111 deaths),” said the Municipal Corporation Greater, Mumbai.
"Thirteen new cases have been confirmed for COVID-19 in Karnataka from yesterday 5 pm to today 5 pm, the total number of cases stand at 260 including 10 deaths and 71 discharged/cured as of 5 pm today,” said State Health Department, ANI reported.
“Eight new cases of COVID-19 reported in Jammu and Kashmir today out of which six are from Kashmir and two from Jammu. Fourteen people from Kashmir have recovered. Total number of positive cases stands now at 278 in the Union Territory,” said Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary-Planning, Jammu and Kashmir, reported ANI.
United Kingdom coronavirus death toll rises from 778 to 12,107, reports AFP.

He further added, “As I already said that Maharashtra will show the way to the country in the fight against COVID-19. In Mumbai alone, 20,000 to 22,000 coronavirus tests carried out.”

One person died of coronavirus while 16 others tested positive for the infection in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, officials said on Tuesday.
Officials said they had sent samples of 17 people for testing to Aligarh's Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, PTI reported.

Number of containment zones in Delhi has increased to 55 after seven more areas have been included in the list, ANI reported.
“Ahmedabad has more than 350 coronavirus positive cases. It means that more than 50 percent cases in Gujarat are from Ahmedabad and to be particular the cases are from the walled city and Danilimda area,” said Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani.
Rupani added, “We've decided to focus on these areas to control spread of coronavirus. From 6 AM tomorrow till 21 April 6 AM curfew to remain imposed in Danilimda, Jamalpur and Dariyapur. From 1-4 pm daily curfew will be lifted but only women of these areas will be given this freedom.”
The oldest person to test positive for coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh was an 80-year old woman from Guntur while the youngest were two three-year old girls, one from Kurnool and another from East Godavari district.
Of the total 483 COVID-19 cases registered in the state from 12 March to 14 April, 125 were female and the rest male, PTI reported.
The Prime Minister has failed to assure crores of downtrodden hungry people and workers in his address to the nation on Tuesday, All India Trade Union (AITUC) General Secretary Amarjeet Kaur said, reported PTI.
With five more persons from Malegaon testing positive for coronavirus infection on Tuesday, the number of COVID-cases in Nashik district has gone up to 42, officials said.
All of them were contacts of coronavirus positive cases and are already under quarantine, they said, PTI reported.

In light of the coronavirus lockdowns in both, India and France. the delivery of the first batch of Rafale fighter aircraft has been delayed by a few weeks now.
IAF sources said, "At present, the delivery schedule has been pushed back by a few weeks due to the lockdown but arrangements are being made in this regard," ANI reported.
