The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday, 7 October, arrested accused Ellie Ketok for allegedly killing Arunachal Pradesh MLA Tirong Aboh and 10 others in May, this year, news agency ANI reported.
Ketok, the sixth person to be arrested in the case, is the area commander of Naga separatist group NSCN-IM (National Socialist Council of Nagaland) of Tirap area in Arunachal Pradesh.
Further investigations are underway in the case, according to ANI.
On 21 May 2019, at least eleven people, including the MLA of the Khonsa West constituency in Arunachal Pradesh Triong Aboh and his son were killed after shots were fired at the vehicle they were travelling in.
The attack happened near Bogapani village in Arunachal Pradesh.
Two days after the incident, when the results were declared for the election, Aboh managed to win his seat.
The others who were killed in the incident included Wangngoi Hakhun, Jalin Hakhun, Ganwang Hakhun, Matlam Aboh, Pangro, and two PSOs of Aboh including Ponhang Agi and B Siksa.
