1. Coast Guard Sounds High Alert After Intelligence on Possible Terrorist Attack
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has sounded a high alert for Mumbai ahead of Independence Day and urged the city police to illuminate its eastern and western coasts to intercept any suspicious movements.
The ICG’s Regional Commander (West) has written to the Mumbai Police on Monday asking it to shore up coastal security after receiving “serious intelligence inputs” about a possible terrorist attack from the sea.

2. 570 Medical Teams in Sangli, Kolhapur
The state health department has pressed into service 570 medical teams in Sangli and Kolhapur districts, with the primary aim to distribute diabetes and hypertension medicines, among other drugs, to prevent water-borne infections.
With lakhs evacuated from homes without their daily pills when parts of western Maharashtra were flooded, health workers are scouting for patients to provide them with their daily dose of medicines.
The government has earmarked Rs 75 crore for health facilities in these flood-hit areas. State Health Secretary Dr Pradeep Vyas said that instructions have been issued to health posts to buy medicines locally if stock runs out in government centres. Health workers are issuing advisories to flood-affected families to use chlorine tablets in drinking water that are being freely distributed.

3. Govt Approves Filing Charge Sheet Against NCP MLA
The Maharashtra government has approved filing a chargesheet against Ramesh Kadam, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA and former chairman of Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Finance Corporation, along with former managing director Shravan Bawne and three others, for misappropriation of around ₹3.65 crore. The decision was taken in the state ministerial council meeting on Tuesday.
The other accused are former general managers of the corporation: Sugreev Gaikwad, Chandrashekhar Dongre and former accountant Sushma Kasbe. The chargesheet will be filed in court under section 197 (prosecution of judges and public servants) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

4. Flight With Gadkari on Board Cancelled in Nagpur After Snag
The take-off of a Delhi-bound Indigo flight from Nagpur 6E-636, with Union minister Nitin Gadkari on board, was cancelled on Friday morning owing to a technical glitch, when the aircraft was taxiing to the runway.
After a six-hour wait, most fliers were accommodated on an another flight around 1:45pm.
The flight, carrying 168 passengers on board, was to take off from Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport to Delhi around 7.50am. However, while the Airbus A320 was on the taxiway, the pilot detected a technical error and it returned to the parking bay around 7.30am.

5. Water Level in Jayakwadi Dam Crosses 90% Mark
Even as Marathwada continues to face an overall monsoon deficit of over 20 percent, water storage levels in the region’s largest dam Jayakwadi in Paithan taluka crossed 90 per cent — a first in two years. By 3 pm on Tuesday, the Nath Sagar reservoir at the Jayakwadi dam was 90.86 per cent full, owing mainly to the continuing overflow of east-flowing waters from Nashik.
While the water level in the reservoir crossed 50 per cent just a week ago, going from one-third to half full overnight as Nath Sagar received more than 2 lakh cusec from the upstream dams on the Godavari, inflow slowed down considerably over the past two days as river water level upstream receded alongside the break in the rain.
