Mulayam Singh Yadav Admitted To Hospital With Stomach Problem

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mulayam Singh Yadav was admitted to Lucknow’s Medanta hospital on Thursday night with a stomach-related ailment.

The 80-year-old complained of constipation and stomach ache. Scores of SP leaders including his son Akhilesh Yadav and daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav visited him at the hospital.

Speaking to The Hindustan Times, Dr Rakesh Kapoor, director of Medanta hospital, said that “Mulayam Singh Yadav was having stomach ache and was not taking food properly due to stomach problem,”.

The veteran SP chief was admitted to the Medanta once earlier this year in May when he complained about stomach-related problems.

Similarly, he also sought treatment from a private hospital in Mumbai related to abdominal pain in December last year. He was discharged three days later.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was born in Etawah district's Saifai village in 1939 and also served as the defence minister in 1996.

Earlier in 1993, he founded the SP and before that served as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1989 to 1991. it was between 2003 to 2007 that he served his third and final term in UP.
