Deputy superintendent of police Mohammed Ayub Pandith’s funeral on Friday was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, police officers, locals and relatives. Pandith was lynched by a mob near Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta, Srinagar during the wee hours of Friday.

An officer being lynched by the very people he had gone to protect proves we have reached a stage where very little difference is left between humanity and barbarism.
