The MODI (Making of Developed India) fest will be held across the country in 900 cities till 15 June.

On reaching the three-year mark of his term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally at Guwahati, where he also laid the foundation stone of a new AIIMS.
He inaugurated the Dhola-Sadiya bridge, which is around 9.15 km-long on Friday which he said, is dedicated to Bhupen Hazarika.
The PM expressed his gratitude to the people at the rally.
BJP President Amit Shah spoke on the occasion of the Modi government entering its fourth year of politics.
Shah spoke of the demonetisation drive, saying that it helped BJP tighten their hold on black money holders. He also spoke of the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in leading the surgical strikes against Pakistan after the Uri attack.
Participating in the foundation laying ceremony for the Indian Agriculture Research Institute in Gogamukh, PM Modi elaborated on turning the Northeast (NE) into “new economy, new energy, new empowerment and new engine”.
He also announced the ‘Sampada’ (Scheme for Agro-Marine Produce Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters) scheme for value addition to agriculture. He added that it is time to move on to “evergreen revolution”.
Listing the initiatives taken up by the BJP government for the agricultural sector, he said that 9,000 soil health card labs have been set up in the country in these three years apart from schemes like Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana etc.
He stressed on organic farming for the region, saying the products have a major market all across the world.
Speaking after the inauguration of the Dhola-Sadiya bridge, PM Modi said that the bridge will be named after “son of the soil” and music legend Bhupen Hazarika. He said the people of Assam would’ve had access to the bridge “10 years back” had it not been for the change in government.
He further spoke about connecting the Northeastern region with the rest of the country via infrastructural facilities that include railways and roads.
“Arunachal Pradesh and Assam have been connected by a bridge that will save them 6-7 hours of travel time. Diesel worth Rs 10 lakh will now be saved everyday. Just this facility will open many opportunities of development in the states...Northeast can also be turned into a tourist hub,” he said.
He congratulated the Assam government headed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal saying that within one year of BJP rule in the state, Assam got rid of many issues it earlier faced.

Modi, who is on a day-long visit to Assam, kickstarted the celebrations lined up for the day by inaugurating the country’s longest river bridge – the Dhola-Sadiya bridge, which is around 9.15 km-long.
After inaugurating the Rs 2,056 crore strategic bridge at Sadia in Assam’s Tinsukia district, the PM walked a short distance over it.
As part of the MODI (Making Of Developed India) Fest, he will also lay the foundation stones for Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in Dhemaji district around noon and then for AIIMS in Guwahati.
The fest will be held across 900 cities in the country till 15 June that would also be addressed by Union Ministers, parliamentarians, BJP chief ministers, state ministers and several senior party leaders.
BJP President Amit Shah would attend the programme in Kerala between 2-4 June, in Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 6 June, in Chhattisgarh from 8 to 10 June, and in Arunachal Pradesh from 12-13 June.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the MODI fest in Jaipur and Mumbai, while External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj would attend the programmes in Delhi and Lucknow.
