A minor girl, admitted in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, was allegedly gang-raped by a hospital staffer and four unidentified men.
The minor was raped on Sunday, 4 November, reported The Indian Express.
According to the police officials, the girl was admitted to hospital after getting bitten by a snake and was moved to Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The girl was on ventilator when she was raped. She informed others about the incident after she was moved back to general ward.
A Singh, superintendent of police (city) said, “Victim narrated her ordeal after she was shifted to the general ward. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.”
Singh said that the police immediately reached the spot after learning about the incident, lodged an FIR and commenced an investigation.
So far, an FIR has been lodged against one of the hospital staff and four other unidentified men who are absconding.
