Meghalaya Teeri Betting: Shillong Teer Results Out Today

The results of Shillong Teer, an archery-based lottery, will be declared on Thursday, 7 February, at 3:30pm on the official website meghalayateer.com. Shillong Teer is a daily lottery conducted by the Khasi Hills Archery Sports Association.

Khanapara Teer and Juwai Teer are among other betting games played on a daily basis in Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. 'Teer' literally translates to 'arrow' in English, and the Teeri betting, as the name suggests, is the betting done on the game of archery – a traditional sport played by the Khasi tribe of Meghalaya.

Teeri betting, which was legalised by the state government in 1982, is controlled under the Meghalaya Amusements and Betting Tax (Amendment) Act 1982.

There are several licensed counters across the state for Teer betting, the tickets for which are sold between 10 am and 3:30 pm. Betting is done on an amount between Re 1 and Rs 500.

The match begins at 3:30 pm and the results are announced on the same day in two rounds – the first round at 3:30 pm and the second round at 4:30 pm. The first round winners receive a prize of up to Rs 80 for each rupee invested, while a sum of Rs 60 is awarded for every Re 1 spent on the second round.

Rules of Teer Betting Game

• Fifty archers get to shoot 30 arrows each in the first round and 20 arrows in the second round – the numbers cannot vary.
• The player is required to predict the last two digits of the complete number of arrows that hit the target.
• Bets can be placed on numbers ranging from 0 to 99.
• The target should be a type used by the Khasis or Jaintias, as the case may be.
• The time for all the shooters to complete the first round of shooting should not exceed five minutes.

Meghalaya is one of those Indian states where lottery is legalised and operated by the state government.
