Take Action Against Son, Not Father: Khattar on Vikas Barala

Opposition demanded Subhash Barala’s removal from BJP state position after his son harassed a woman in Chandigarh.

After Opposition demanded action against Subhash Barala, the Haryana BJP state president, over his son stalking and harassing a young woman, Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar came to his defence.

He said that punishing someone for the crime committed by someone else isn’t fair.

I came to know about this incident. Chandigarh Police has filed the complaint and I believe they will take appropriate action. This matter is not related with Subhash Barala but with an individual. So action would be taken against his son

Barala’s son Vikas Barala was arrested in the early hours of Saturday and was granted bail the same day, given the charges against him were bailable.

The woman who was harassed is the daughter of an IAS officer and she was chased by Barala and a friend of his at night in Chandigarh. Post the incident, the Congress urged the government to do the needful.
