Over 62 hours after an under-construction building collapsed in Dharwad, north Karnataka, a man was pulled out from under the building debris on Friday, 22 March.
While there have been no reports of immediate injury suffered by the man, he was helped by the rescue officials and seen being taken away for further medical assistance.
After the building collapsed on Tuesday, rescuers were fearing that at least 12 to 15 people were still trapped under the debris as they heard voices coming from inside.
On Friday morning, the death toll reached 14 and 56 people were recused. The police officials have registered an FIR against building owners – Ravi Basavaraj Sabarad, Basavaraj D Nigadi, Gangappa S Shintri, Mahabaleshwar Puradagudi and engineer Vivek Pawar.
All four owners surrendered before the police and the engineer has been taken into police custody.
The four-storeyed building, which belonged to one of the relatives of former Congress minister Vinay Kulkarni, came crashing on Tuesday.
