Man Kills 4-Yr-Old Daughter as ‘Sacrifice for Ramzan’: Reports
The wife of the accused approached the police with the complaint.

A man was arrested on Saturday, 9 June in Pipar city, Jodhpur for allegedly sacrificing his daughter to appease Allah during the ongoing holy month of Ramzan, PTI quoted police as saying.
Nawab Ali's elder daughter, four-year-old Rizwana was found dead with her throat slit at his residence on Friday morning, Superintendent of Police (Jodhpur Rural) Rajan Dushyant told PTI.
“Jo meri sabse pyaari cheez thi wo Allah ke paas bhejni thi (I had to offer my most prized possession to Allah),” The Indian Express, quoted the man as saying. In a statement recorded by The Indian Express, the police said: “Investigation revealed the suspicious role of the father. His psychological questioning helped reveal clues. Ultimately, he confessed to his crime.”
Rizwana was found missing in the morning and a search by the family led to the discovery of her body on the ground floor of the house, a police official told PTI. As per the news wire, Ali tried to convince the family that a cat may have killed Rizwana, who was declared brought dead at a hospital.
Police told PTI that Ali had taken Rizwana to market earlier on Thursday, 7 June, where he bought her goodies and sweets, telling her that he loved her very much.
The family, including Ali, his wife and two daughters had slept together on the roof of their house on Thursday night. At midnight, he took her downstairs, made her sit in his lap and recited Quranic verses before slitting her throat with a sharp-edged knife, the police added. He then came back upstairs to sleep with the others, police told PTI.
The incident came to the notice of the police when Ali’s wife, 22-year-old Shabana approached them to submit a complaint, PTI reports.
The post-mortem on Rizwana’s body was carried out on 8 June. She was buried on the same day.
