On Friday, authorities in the Mandal Area of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, detained a man for attempting to make an Aadhaar Card for the slain al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden.
Saddam Mansuri, who runs an Aadhaar registration centre in Mandal, tried to enrol an Aadhaar card in Osama Bind Laden's name a few days back.
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) became privy to the glaring mistake and filed a complaint against the operator on Friday, according to a report by The Times of India
After Mansuri uploaded the details to the central server, the verification department of the UIDAI found glaring omissions in the applicant's data base.
Sanjay Aludia, the department of IT’s Mandal circle programmer said that the enrolment application had no thumb impression or iris scan.
Under the relevant sections of the IT Act, the Mandal Police booked Mansuri. However the authorities said that they were waiting for the IT department to share all documentary evidence with them before initiating their investigation.
