On Friday, authorities in the Mandal Area of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, detained a man for attempting to make an Aadhaar Card for the slain al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden.

Saddam Mansuri, who runs an Aadhaar registration centre in Mandal, tried to enrol an Aadhaar card in Osama Bind Laden's name a few days back.

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) became privy to the glaring mistake and filed a complaint against the operator on Friday, according to a report by The Times of India

Mansuri filled Abbottabad, district Bhilwara as Laden’s address; he also uploaded a picture of the terrorist which was blurred. He did not upload details such as thumb impression or identification proof.

After Mansuri uploaded the details to the central server, the verification department of the UIDAI found glaring omissions in the applicant's data base.

Sanjay Aludia, the department of IT’s Mandal circle programmer said that the enrolment application had no thumb impression or iris scan.

Furthermore, he found that the address provided was ‘Abbottabad, Mandal village in Bhilwara’, a detail which the technical team of the UIADI in New Delhi found suspicious. The team quickly informed the Rajasthan department of information and technology, which led to Aludia filing an FIR.

Under the relevant sections of the IT Act, the Mandal Police booked Mansuri. However the authorities said that they were waiting for the IT department to share all documentary evidence with them before initiating their investigation.

Mansuri claimed he is innocent as somebody else might have uploaded the enrolment details. However, the user id belonged to Mansuri and application could have only been uploaded under his supervision.
