Malayalam actor Dileep, who was arrested in July for the kidnapping and abduction of an actress, has been granted bail by the Kerala High Court.
He spent 86 days in judicial custody at the Aluva sub-jail. Dileep had submitted five bail applications, of which three were in the Kerala High Court. This was his fifth application, which has been approved.
His wife, actress Kavya Madhavan, had applied for anticipatory bail at the Kerala High Court in September.
The prime accused in the case, Pulsar Suni, and his accomplice were arrested a week after the actress was abducted on 17 February on her way from Thrissur to Kochi and dumped outside director Lal's residence.
The police traced the conspiracy to Dileep and he was arrested. Ahead of Dileep's arrest, the police probe team had also questioned Kavya and her mother.
