Maharashtra Bans Tobacco For A Year

The Maharashtra government’s one-year ban on tobacco came into effect on July 20.

The Maharashtra government had issued a ban on tobacco and all related products in the state on July 15. The ban came in effect starting July 20.

As a part of the one year ban, all products made from tobacco and beetel-nut will be banned in Maharashtra.

Dr Harshadeep Kamble, Food Safety Commissioner of Maharashtra State Food and Drug Administration, issued a statement on July 15.
