Air Ambulance With 7 Onboard Crash Lands in Najafgarh, Delhi

The plane reportedly crash landed around 2:45 pm due to engine failure.

A 61-year-old cardiac patient Virender Rai who was being flown to Delhi has been rushed to the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon immediately after the incident. The other passengers were taken to a nearby government hospital for medical examination.

The 1989-make aircraft, carrying registration number VT EQO, was in touch with to Air Traffic Control as it was in the final approach to landing.

The six other onboard persons include Rupesh (doctor), Jung Bahadur (aircraft technician), Juhi and Bhagwan Rai (both relatives of the patient), Amit Kumar (pilot) and Rohit (co-pilot).

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said DGCA officials have been sent to the site of the incident to conduct a probe.

As many as 14 fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately after the aircraft crashlanded.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has begun its probe into the air ambulance’s crash landing in Delhi’s Najafgarh area.

The aircraft landed 6.0 nautical miles short of IGI airport. The pilot reported failure of both engines. All seven on board are safe.

All seven people on board have been rushed to the Rao Tularam hospital, the police said. One person sustained major injuries.

A six-seater Beech King Air C-90A aircraft with seven people onboard, has crash landed near Delhi’s Najafgarh area due to engine failure. The aircraft, owned by the Alchemist Group, was on its way from Patna to Delhi with a patient in need of medical attention.

Initial reports suggest that all passengers and crew members onboard are safe, though some may have been injured.

More details are awaited.
