Three civilians were killed allegedly in firing by security forces during clashes with stone-pelting protesters in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, reported PTI.

Clashes broke out between protestors and security forces in Hawoora Mishipora village in Qoimoh area of Kulgam in south Kashmir, a police official told PTI.

He said they used force to disperse the protestors and three people were killed, the official said.

Students Can Appear for NEET Twice a Year: Prakash Javadekar

Human and Resource Department Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) will be held twice a year and the students best score will be considered for admission, reported ANI.

Javadekar also announced that NEET, JEE, UGC and CMAT will be computer based exams and be conducted on multiple dates.

SC to Pronounce Verdict on Review Petition Against Death Penalty in Nirbhaya Case

The Supreme Court of India will, on July 9, 2018, pronounce its verdict on a review petition filed by convicts against the death penalty handed down to them in the 2012 Nirbhaya rape case. The convicts - Akshay, Pawan, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh - had challenged the Delhi High Court order which had sentenced them to the gallows.

No-trust Motion Against Raman Singh-led BJP Govt in Chhattisgarh Defeated

After a 14-hour debate, a no-trust motion moved by the Congress against the Raman Singh-led BJP government was defeated by a voice vote in the Chhattisgarh Assembly in the wee hours today.

The debate started after 12 noon on Friday and ended at 2.10 AM today. Several issues including asex CD case, corruption and law and order situation were raised.

Suspected Cow Smugglers Kill 3 Men in Meghalaya

Three persons, including a village headman, were killed and three others seriously injured after a group of suspected cow smugglers attacked them near the Bangladesh border in Meghalaya's West Jaintia Hills district, police said today.

News agency PTI reported that the incident occurred at around 2.30 pm on Friday, 6 July, when the six were returning to their village Amlani after attending an official meeting at Amlarem, a sub-divisional town in the district, the police said.

The six were stopped at a place near Trangblang village and attacked by the suspected cow smugglers, a police officer said.

Allegations Against Hardik, Alpesh and Jignesh Will be Investigated: Gandhinagar SP

The Gandhinagar police today said that the complaint against Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor and J Mevani will be investigated. The SP said that the video of the incident will be scrutinised and action will be taken accordingly.

A woman had, earlier in the day, registered an FIR, alleging the three leaders barged into her house and accused her of selling alcohol.
