CBSE Class 10 Results: Two Students Allegedly Commit Suicide Over Marks

According to CNN News18, a class 10 student from Delhi reportedly committed suicide this evening after the results were declared. Speaking to the channel, the DCP of Dwarka said the student hung himself on the terrace of his residence.

He had reportedly scored 59 percent in the exams.

One more student in Dabri in the national capital allegedly committed suicide after she failed in Maths and Science, reported ANI.

4 Dead, 5 Injured After Mosque Pillar Collapses in UP's Lakhimpur Kheri

Four people died and five others were injured in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri after a pillar of a mosque collapsed due to strong winds and heavy rains, reported ANI.

Massive Fire at Rubber Godown in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar

A massive fire broke out in a rubber godown in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar locality on Tuesday. The fire is said to have broken out around 5 pm and at least 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to bring the blaze under control, a Delhi Fire Services officer told PTI.

According to ANI, the fire first broke out in a truck and then spread to the godown. The fire has been termed as one belonging to the 'highest category', and has injured at least one firefighter, reported NDTV. Officials have reportedly cordoned off the area and evacuated buildings in the vicinity.

Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' Won't Release in Karnataka

The much-awaited film 'Kaala' starring Rajinikanth would not be released in Karnataka following his comments on the Cauvery issue, ANI reported.

Re-Polling at Several Booths in Kairana, Bhandara-Gondiya

Re-polling was ordered by the Election Commission at 73 booths in UP's Kairana and 49 booths in Maharashtra's Bhandara-Gondiya Lok Sabha seat to be held on Wednesday, 30 May. The voting in the bypolls held on Monday was marred by alleged cases of faulty EVMs.

Fresh polling will also be held at one polling station in Nagaland on Wednesday.

DGMOs of India and Pakistan Agree to Implement 2003 Ceasefire Understanding

The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan have agreed to fully implement the ceasefire understanding of 2003, to ensure that ceasefire will not be violated by both the sides, reported ANI.

The agreement came during talks between the DGMOs of the two sides where they brought up the issues of ceasefire violations and terrorist activities, among others.

Haryana Minister Anil Vij Compares Rahul Gandhi to Nipah Virus

BJP leader and Haryana Minister Anil Vij kicked off a controversy on Tuesday when he compared Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Nipah virus, apparently while referring to the Congress' alliance with the JD(S) in Karnataka.

"Rahul Gandhi is similar to Nipah virus. Whichever party he comes in contact with, that party will be finished. They (the parties) are trying to come together (in alliance), but they will be finished off," he said.

'Killing of Security Personnel and Civilians Has Reduced by 96%': Rajnath Singh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh claimed that the security situation in the country has improved to a large extent, citing a "multi-pronged study" carried out by his ministry.

"Killing of security forces personnel and civilians has reduced by 96 percent in 2017, in comparison to 1997," he was quoted by ANI as saying.

Regarding the Ramzan ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir, the Home Minister said it "wasn't a ceasefire, but suspension of operation in view of Ramzan."

"...But it was clearly said that we'll resume operation if any terror activity takes place. We haven't tied the hands of our security forces. Our forces killed five terrorists when an attack took place," he added.

Fire Breaks Out in Train Coach at CST Mumbai

A fire broke out in a coach of a train parked at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway yard in Mumbai, ANI reported. The fire has now been doused and only one coach was damaged at the washing site of the CST yard, the Western Railways Public Relations Officer (PRO) said.

“Officials are present at the site and an inquiry has been initiated. Local and long-distance train services will not be affected,” he said,

CBI Registers Case Against Air Asia Group CEO Tony Fernandes

The CBI has registered a case against Air Asia Group CEO Tony Fernandes and others over alleged violation of norms for getting international flying licenses, officials said on Tuesday, 29 May.

Searches are also being carried out at six locations in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, the officials said.

One person was injured in a firing outside the Gate no. 2 of Tis Hazari Court in Delhi, ANI reported.

Dinesh, a criminal of Gogi gang who had been produced before the Court by Haryana Police, was fired upon by a member of Tillu gang, while he was seated in the police vehicle at Gate no. 2 of Tis Hazari Court. Dinesh admitted to hospital. The accused has been apprehended.

Southwest Monsoon Hits Kerala Three Days Ahead of Schedule: IMD

The southwest monsoon hit Kerala on Tuesday, three days before its scheduled arrival, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The onset of monsoon over the southern state marks the commencement of the four-month long rainy season in the country.

1 June is the official onset date for arrival of monsoon in the country and it takes more than a month-and-half to cover the entire country.

The IMD has made a forecast of "normal" rainfall this season.

Man in Agra Beaten up For Allegedly Vandalising Statue of Deity
