China is facing their hardest time in decades in maintaining the economy and badly wants to have a trade deal with the US, President Donald Trump has said, ahead of the next round of trade negotiations between the two giant economies.
“China is having a hard time at this moment. And I think they'd like to make a deal very badly. And so we have a lot of things that are really exciting,” Trump told reporters at the White House.
The US and China will hold the next round of trade negotiations on October 10, as the two major trading powers are trying to end their bruising trade war.

A 17-year-old girl was set ablaze allegedly by a 24-year-old man for turning down marriage proposal. The incident took place at Kakkanad in Kochi, in which both succumbed.
One person was killed and four were injured after a vehicle of the convoy of Shiromiani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia collided with a truck at Moga Kotkapura Bypass, in Moga last night. The convoy was on its way to Bathinda. The injured have been admitted to a hospital.

One woman died and 11 others were injured on Thursday after a truck carrying them crashed through the railing of a bridge and plunged into the Neora river in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, police said.
The incident took place at about 6 am in Malbazar subdivision when the people were going to a weekly market at Mangalbari in Chalsa, they said.
Injured persons were recued by personnel of the Fire Brigade and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and rushed to the Malbazar super speciality hospital, police said.

Four people are feared to have drowned in a river during the immersion of a Durga idol in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Thursday.
The four men, all in their 20s, went along with a group to Kalu river in Titwala township on Wednesday night for the idol immersion, after the conclusion of the Durga festival, and accidentally fell into the water body.

A 55-year-old journalist was killed by two assailants who slit his throat near Dubouli village in neighbouring Kushinagar district on Thursday morning, the police said.
The victim, Radheyshyam Sharma, was associated with a local Hindi newspaper, they said.
Sharma, a resident of Siktiya Bantolwa village in Kushinagar, also taught at a private school nearby and was on his way there on a motorcycle when the assailants stopped him and slit his throat, the police said.

The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday sealed an approximately five-acre bungalow of a HDIL promoter near Mumbai in connection with its money laundering probe in the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) bank case, officials said.
They said the property is in Vasai suburb under Palghar district of Maharashtra.
