Two days after his mega anti-BJP rally in Patna, RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s kin are again feeling the heat from Income Tax Department. His wife Rabri Devi, younger son Tejashwi Yadav and elder daughter Misa Bharti were on Tuesday questioned in connection to an alleged “benami” (proxy) properties’ case by department personnel, officials said.
According to department officials, the development was kept a closely guarded secret in view of the security threat involved.
In May, the department had raided 22 places in and around Delhi in connection with the case after senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi claimed Lalu was connected to hundreds of “benami” properties.
Lalu went on a tirade during his ‘BJP Bhagao, Desh Bachao’ rally on Sunday saying he will “not bow before fascist and communal forces like the BJP” and will not stop his fight till the BJP is defeated in the 2019 General Elections.
While accusing the Centre of misusing investigation agencies against him and his family, he said that “farzi” (false) cases were lodged to scare him.
