The Unnao rape survivor has accused expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar for the 28 July car-truck collision, which killed two of her aunts and left her and her lawyer injured.
In her first media interaction since the car-truck collision, she told The Times of India "It was Kuldeep Singh Sengar who conspired to have me killed in the car-truck crash on the Raebareli highway. There is little doubt about this."
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday, 6 September, granted two more weeks to the CBI to complete the probe in the collision case involving the rape survivor. The apex court also told the Delhi High Court to hold a special court at AIIMS, Delhi, to examine the survivor after the special judge's request, reported ANI.
The survivor and her family had alleged threats from Sengar's aide and had written a letter to CJI Ranjan Gogoi regarding it prior to the crash. However, CJI had said he did not get the letter.
She alleged threats by the son of Sengar’s aide.
According to TOI's report, the survivor had given the same statement to the CBI at AIIMS a few days ago. She said she had informed about the threats in multiple letters to the authorities in police and the government.
The survivor told the media organisation that the former BJP MLA can “go to any extent, even from the prison”.
In an attempt to get out of the truck’s way, the lawyer, who was at the wheel of the car, tried to reverse the vehicle. However, the truck crashed into the car before he could steer the vehicle to safety.
“I am still in pain and unable to walk,” she said.
The survivor was allegedly raped by Sengar in 2017, when she was a minor. He had denied the allegations and was arrested in 2018 by CBI.
