On Thursday, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) unanimously stayed the death sentence that was awarded to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav by a Pakistani military court. The bench of judges ruled that India should have been given consular access as per the Vienna Convention.
The Quint spoke to Dr Bharat H Desai, Professor of International Law at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, to discuss the ruling.
