Kulbhushan Jadhav, on Monday, 2 September, met with India’s Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan Gaurav Ahluwalia. Following the meeting, Ministry of External Affairs Minister said that Jadhav was "under extreme pressure to parrot a false narrative to bolster Pak’s untenable claims”.
Earlier in the day, Ahluwalia met Mohammad Faisal, Spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
MEA says future course of action will be taken after receiving a detailed report from the India's Deputy High Commissioner.
"We"ll decide a further course of action after receiving a detailed report from our Charge d’ Affaires and determining the extent of conformity to the ICJ directives," the MEA said.
The ministry also said that the External Affairs Minister has spoken to Kulbhushan's mother on Monday's developments.
In a statement released on Monday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that Kulbhushan Jadhav was "under extreme pressure" during his meeting with India's Deputy High Commissioner.
"The Charge d’ Affaires, High Commission of India in Islamabad, met Kulbhushan Jadhav today. While we await a comprehensive report,it was clear that he appeared to be under extreme pressure to parrot a false narrative to bolster Pak’s untenable claims," the statement said.

India, on Monday, 2 September accepted Pakistan’s offer for consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, government sources said.
The sources said, “India has been seeking consular access to Shri Kulbushan Jadhav for the last 3 years. The matter of denial of consular access was taken to ICJ by India. The court gave a unanimous decision in favour of India. Today, after victory in the ICJ, India will be proceeding for consular access to Shri Jadhav. Indian Charge d' Affaires, Shri Gaurav Ahluwalia, will be meeting Shri Jadhav. We hope that the Pakistan will ensure right atmosphere so that the meeting is free, fair, meaningful and effective in keeping with the letter and spirit of the ICJ orders.”
Pakistan will provide consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav on Monday, 2 September, in line with the Vienna Convention and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) judgment, said the country’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
In a tweet on Sunday, 1 September, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mohammed Faisal confirmed the same.
On 1 August, Pakistan Foreign Office said the retired Indian Navy officer on death row will be granted consular access the next day. However, the meeting, which was scheduled for 3 pm on 2 August, did not materialise amid differences between India and Pakistan on the terms of the consular access to Jadhav.
Jadhav, 49, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of "espionage and terrorism" in April 2017, following which India had moved the International Court of Justice (ICJ), seeking a stay on his death sentence and further remedies.
