The glitch in the check-in system at the Kolkata airport was resolved after nine hours of disruption on Monday, 13 May, news agency PTI reported.

"The system, which slowed down and conked off around 5:15pm yesterday (Monday), was up and running by 2.30am," Airport Director Kaushik Bhattacharjee said on Tuesday.

The server system at the Kolkata airport went down on Monday resulting in flight delays and putting a number of essential services in a limbo.

The airlines were left issuing manual tickets, while the FIDS (Flight Information Display System) and cameras got affected.

Over 20 flights were delayed after a fault in Local Area Network (LAN) inside the airport, according to news agency ANI. The issue started around 5:15 pm after which all airlines started issuing boarding pass manually.

Several passengers tweeted about their plight, with some of them asking the authorities to intervene.
