On Day 3 of Jordan King’s visit to India, PM Modi held comprehensive talks with Jordan's King Abdullah II on key bilateral and regional issues after which two sides signed a dozen agreements, including on strengthening cooperation in defence and counter-terrorism.
King Abdullah II of Jordan met President Ram Nath Kovind & Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi, ANI reported .
India and Jordan renewed their support to the Palestinian cause as the two sides signed 12 agreements, including one on defence cooperation, following a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and King of Jordan Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein on1 March.
Apart from defence deal, an agreement on visa waiver for diplomatic and official passport holders were among 12 documents.
Ahead of the bilateral talks, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, "reinvigorating traditionally close and cordial ties."

Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Prime Minister Modi delivered addresses on the theme, 'Islamic Heritage and promoting Understanding and Moderation', at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan.
PM Modi said India's youth should associate themselves with the humanitarian aspects of Islam and be able to use modern technology at the same time.
India, the PM added, had been a "cradle of all major religions in the world".
Sharing his views on religion, King Abdullah II said faith should hold humanity together.
The two leaders discussed a gamut of issues ranging from Syrian refugees to Palestine and resolved to enhance cooperation in the economic sphere, T S Tirumurti, secretary (economic relations) in the external affairs ministry, told reporters.
King Abdullah II of Jordan, accompanied by his delegation, paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in Delhi.
King Abdullah II of Jordan was received by President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi on 1 March. He was honoured with a ceremonial reception.
King Abdullah on 28 February visited the Indian National Security Guard Training Centre in New Delhi and was briefed on its training capacities. The royal also attended a military exercise and signed the centre's guestbook.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on 28 February, called on Jordan's King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and discussed with him ways to enhance bilateral ties in a range of sectors.
"Good conversation on strengthening ties across all sectors, specially in trade & investment, defence & security, tourism and people-to-people exchanges," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
The Union Cabinet on Wednesday, 28 February gave its nod to sign a host of pacts with Jordan, including cooperation in the field of health, manpower, customs and mining.
It approved the signing an MoU with Jordan on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs matters. This will help in availability of relevant information for prevention and investigation of offences related to customs violation. "The agreement is also expected to facilitate trade and ensure efficient clearance of goods traded between the countries," an official statement said.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also gave its approval for a pact for cooperation between India and Jordan in the field of manpower.
Jordan King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein on 28 February said he is “truly delighted” with the warm welcome that he has received in India, and hoped that the visit will herald a new start to the “historic chapter” of relationship between the two countries.
“Jordan is situated with the opportunity with not only the free trade agreements for North America but Europe, the Middle East and the new development of our opening relationship with East Africa has opportunities for many people,” Al-Hussein said.
The King shared that he asked the Jordanian Ambassador in Amman to convey any challenges faced by Indians who are willing to come to Jordan.
“We in Morocco will personally look into it to make sure that the smoothest welcome is given to our Indian compatriots,” Al-Hussein said while addressing the India-Jordan Business Forum in Delhi.
King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Delhi on Wednesday, 28 February to explore collaboration with Jordanian technical institutes.
During his half-an-hour visit to the premiere institute, King Abdullah met IIT-Delhi Director V Ramgopal Rao and deans of various departments to discuss the areas in which they can enter into collaboration, including artificial intelligence.
King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, who arrived in Delhi on Tuesday, 27 February on a three-day visit, was accorded a grand welcome with Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving him at the airport, in a special gesture.
"Welcomed His Majesty King Abdullah II to Delhi. It's wonderful to meet him again, after my brief halt at Amman earlier this month. His visit to India will further deepen bilateral ties between our nations. I look forward to our talks on Thursday," Modi tweeted.
