From a town in Gujarat, Khushi Shah had made it big as a fashion designer in Mumbai. While on a vacation in Istanbul, she could not have anticipated that she would never be returning her creations to the ramp.
Khushi from Vadodara was one of the two Indians who lost her life at the Istanbul nightclub, Reina, when a lone gunman opened fire at the crowd on New Year’s Eve.
Her relatives expressed their shock and grief over the incident, as Financial Express reported.
Shah, who was a fashion designer, was the daughter of Ashwin Shah, who has his own chemical business in Vadodara. The family lives in Chikoowadi area of the region, as reported by The Times of India.
She was living in Mumbai and had presented her collection at the FDCI Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week in 2012.
She was in Istanbul on New Year’s Eve, but her family members were not aware of who she was with on the trip.
Her family frantically tried getting information about her whereabouts following the attack, but only got to know of her death after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted about it.
According to a relative, her brother Akshay will go to Turkey to get her body.
