After The News Minute broke the story of a girl and a boy who were expelled from St Thomas Central School in Kerala for merely hugging each other, sparking outrage across the country, the school management has finally agreed to write a letter to the CBSE authorities to allow the boy to write his Class 12th board exam.
Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor had also put pressure on the school personally, which helped in the school softening its stand.
Joseph further told TNM that if the CBSE official agrees to sort out the boy’s attendance, he would definitely be taken back and allowed to write the exam.
The school management has also called the boy for a meeting with the school management on 3 January.
According to The News Minute, the letter addressed to the boy read:
Speaking to TNM, the boy’s father said he is looking forward to the meeting with the school authorities.
According to The News Minute report, the school officials haven’t taken any decision on the girl student who is in Class XI, claiming that she is officially not their student.
However, the girl clarified to TNM, “I haven’t submitted the TC to St Thomas as I was kept away soon after a month of joining the school.”
