Close on the heels of the protests in Karnataka, cab drivers affiliated with online cab aggregators Uber and Ola in Kerala, have decided to protest against the company for their “anti-employee” policies.
As many as 2000 cab drivers in the state will strike work on Monday, say reports.
The decision to hold the protest strike, comes in the wake of the companies refusing to accept any of the 18 demands put forth by the driver’s union. Unifying of wage structures, limit vehicle request ratio to 1:20, recognition of drivers as employees, setting up of customer care service in Malayalam, are some of their demands.
Shajo Jose, general secretary of the All Kerala Online Taxi Driver's Association told The Times of India:
Navas Ponnani, Joint secretary of the union told Deccan Chronicle that the union will intensify the protest if the companies continue to ignore their demands.
